So, I went on vacation. Thats not truely important right now, except that while I was there I realized something.
I really, really, did not like the tone of my last couple of Resto Shaman leveling posts.
Going back and re-reading them was very eye opening. It’s like I was writing to an audience of people that just found WoW under a rock.
Odds are, if you are already to the point that you are searching the internet outside the game for information on playing, you already have a pretty good clue about the basics of the game.
If not, go back and check out my first couple posts on this topic.
From here on out, I am going to assume that you have a decent grasp of the game, and that you are looking for specific info on leveling via the LFD method. I will not cover (again) the levels from 1-15, because that’s before you have access to the dungeon finder, and I won’t be covering what to do once you hit 85.
This is leveling in 5 mans, and that’s all. The specs and glyph choices are not designed for raiding, PvP or questing. If it’s not going to help you heal in 5 mans, it won’t be found here.
After all, thats just more crap to sort through to get to the information you are looking for.
If there is something incorrect or straight up missing, drop me a line and i’ll make it right.
If you have questions about something I didn’t mention, drop me a line and i’ll do my best to help out.
Moving on…
So we are going to assume you have made it to level 15, you have specced Resto, built yourself a few macros, and now you are ready to get healing already.
Queue up.
Seriously. Go heal something already.
When you first get started there is not really any finesse to it.
You have Earth Shield up on your tank and If anyone needs healing you smack ‘em with a Healing Wave. Thats all you have right now, might as well get used to using it.
As you run try to get used to estimating how much your Healing Wave will hit for. Just to try to minimise overhealing, it’s a skill that will pay off later.
Stop back by after your first run and pick up here.
I’ll even give you a nice Lolcat as a place mark.

Back?
Good.
Hope it was a good run.
Then again, I learn more from near disasters than I do from following around a surpurb group thats just destroying the place, so maybe I hope it was a crazy mess filled with white knuckled near wipes.
.
Alright, look back at what you just did.
The rythm of keeping up earth shield.
Keeping everyone topped off.
Fun right?
.
I hope so, ‘cuse thats what we are about.
Granted, there will be many more spells to weave into the mix. Still, for the most part thats what we will be doing all the way to the level cap.
Keeping Earth Shield, and later Riptide, up on the tank.
Keeping everyone in the group alive in your spare time.
It really is that simple.
.
Ok, so you want more information than me just telling you “well, just queue up and go heal stuff!” Ok, I can do that.
First off, HERE is a list of the spells you will be adding into the mix as you go along.
HERE is a bit of a chat on your four best friends, your totems.
HERE is a little something about glyph choices.
Finally, HERE is the talent spec I use, along with the order I spend my points. (And a little about why I spend them that way)
I’m also going to give this post, and those linked above, thier own page acessible from the menu bar at the top of the page. That way it won’t just get buried under the weight of the other posts I’ll write after this one.
Good Hunting my friends, enjoy your time in the LFD.
